The IPB SSRS Association, through the Directorate of Scientific Public Media, Innovation, and Strategic Information, has initiated the launch of the Indonesian Data Publication Coordination Center (Data Indo Center) as a follow-up to the national-scale monitoring platform development program. This platform provides data monitoring for the land, agriculture, forestry, climate, atmosphere, disasters, diseases, society, mining activities, and marine environments. According to the Chairman of the IPB SSRS Association, Rahmat Asy’Ari, in its development, the Data Indo Center is a form of action. “this is a significant transformation of the student research organization of the IPB SSRS Association in the spatial field, producing national monitoring data based on the results of rapid observations, scientific research exploration, and assesment from the councils”.
In the research data management, Data Indo Center coordinates with the data guardian as a data provider, in this case the Strategic Scientific Research Directorate with the approval of Deputy III Coordination for Research Development and Deputy IV Coordination for Publication Development. All IPB SSRS Association organizational resources such as research groups (RO), collaborative teams (RKO), independent research (RM), and joint research teams (KROS) are involved in providing data and its development. After planning the publication, the data is verified by experts with the support of journals as an assessment material, and then the data is ready for publication.
Data Indo Center used Earth Engine which is a cloud computing-based platform as a data publishing platform. The capabilities of Earth Engine as well as the use of open access provide the greatest ease to early career researchers. National data from Data Indo Center can be accessed and downloaded by the public supported by the Chairman of IPB SSRS Association’s Decree and Organizational Regulations of IPB SSRS Association.
